Virtual Learning Days for January 11-15, 2021
Posted on 01/06/2021

Parents/Guardians,

I hope you all had a wonderful Winter Holiday Break!  Yesterday evening, you should have received a call from Ms. Sherri Davis providing information related to our in-person instructional model.  As shared, due to the significant increase in transmission of the COVID-19 virus in our community, we will continue our remote learning environment for students for an additional five days.  Please see the attachment below for instructional guidelines and procedures for each grade level.  All students will utilize online learning or pre-developed work assignments through Friday, January 15, 2021.  Students currently served in person will now report to school on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

In order for your student to continue learning remotely, on Monday, January 11th, we will distribute instructional resources and Chromebooks to students in kindergarten- third grade.  Additionally, assignments sent home with kindergarten- third grade students on December 17, 2020, for the week of January 5, 2021, may be dropped off if completed.  All resources will be distributed and collected using a drive-thru format.  Please have your child's grade and last name prominently displayed in your windshield.  When collecting and dropping off items, please remain in your vehicle.  All items will be collected and dropped off at the front of the school.  Please turn onto Sharp Field Drive from Mill Street and follow the traffic pattern for afternoon dismissal.

Kindergarten-third grade students should follow the attached NCTS Distribution of Items Schedule when collecting and dropping off items.  Additionally, if your student needs a Chromebook, please click here to request a device, and complete the attached Newton County School System Student Device User Agreement .  If you have questions regarding our distribution of items schedule, please contact Ms. Schell at schell.melanie@newton.k12.ga.us.

Our goal is to return to in-person instruction as quickly as possible.  Please continue to take the necessary precautions to keep yourself, your families, and our community safe.  We are truly better together.
